At Burtree Country House, we have two large tipis with all the luxuries for Yorkshire glamping at its finest. Set in a private, enclosed corner of our beautiful grounds, each tipi has its own private hot tub, decking, fire pit, and BBQ in its own garden area for you to enjoy. Children are most welcome; a very small child can join you in the tipi double bed, or you can bring a tent for them. Alternatively, we can set up a 2 or 4-child mini-tipi, depending on age.
A luxury shower and toilet block, exclusively for tipi guests, is less than a minute’s walk away. In the grounds, children can enjoy the swings, sandpit, and other garden activities. We can also provide a bouncy castle, bouncy castle slide, mini bowling, trampoline, bucking bronco, and pony rides with Betty, our resident pony. Additionally, we offer a craft table, mini disco, and entertainment in the large event tent upon request (extra charges apply, and these must be booked in advance prior to your arrival).
Our Gothic Folly, situated within our grounds, serves breakfast upon request (extra charge) and has a licensed bar and eatery for lunch and evening meals, subject to staff availability. We hold events and entertainment at Burtree, with a full list available on our website. Evening music and karaoke can also be set up in the Folly bar for guests to enjoy upon request. We are dog-friendly (extra charge).
We are situated next to the White Horse of Kilburn and the Hambleton Hills. Nearby attractions include Monk Park Farm in the village of Bagby (4 miles away), Thirsk Market Town where you can visit The World of James Herriot, Thirsk Museum, Thirsk Racecourse, and the Ritz Cinema (5 miles away), Sutton Bank National Park Centre (8 miles away), and York Railway Station (18 miles away), where you can visit York Minster, the National Railway Museum, City Walls, and all the delights this lovely market town has to offer. Other nearby attractions include Ripon Racecourse (15 miles away), Lightwater Valley Theme Park (19 miles away), and Ripley Castle (23 miles away).

Once booked, just let us know your occasion, choose from one of our bespoke celebration packages tailored to your needs, and leave the rest to us. We can even have “Happy Birthday” playing as you open the door to your retreat upon request.
